We offer a variety of techniques to guide you into creating a pathway to healing and a direction that feels increasingly aligned with your own sense of inner core purpose. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor and a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist. I am licensed in West Virginia and Maryland and have been in practice since 1988, working in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. Since relocating to the area in 1999, I have been focusing on working with individuals, which includes adolescents, young adults, families, couples and groups. I lead two therapeutic support groups, one for young women and one for adults, men and women. (Please review group tabs for details.) I am also a dance/movement therapist offering a creative alternative on the therapeutic path.
I have completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR, a form of trauma therapy. My eclectic style of therapy addresses numerous amounts of therapeutic issues including depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, addictions/codependency and eating disorders. I also offer cognitive behavioral therapy as needed.
My background includes assisting clients at the John Hopkins Intensive Women’s Outpatient Clinic as well as the Walter P. Carter Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Hospital, both located in Baltimore, MD. In Hagerstown, MD, I was on staff at the Washington County Mental Health Center. Since 2003, I have been in private practice in Shepherdstown, WV.
